WORDOC 2026 Children’s Summit: Empowering Children to Speak, Learn and Lead The WORDOC 2026 Children’s Summit was a significant child-centred platform that brought together children, educators, civil society organizations, advocates, and other stakeholders to promote children’s rights, wellbeing, inclusion, education, and active participation in issues that affect their lives. The summit provided an enabling environment where children were encouraged to express themselves, share their experiences, learn from one another, and develop the confidence to speak about challenges affecting their growth and development. It also reinforced the importance of creating safe, supportive, and inclusive spaces where every child can learn, participate, and thrive. Peniel’s Girls Charity Organization’s Participation and Impact Peniel’s Girls Charity Organization participated in the WORDOC 2026 Children’s Summit as part of its commitment to advancing the wellbeing, dignity, and empowerment of girls and young people. Our participation focused particularly on menstrual health, menstrual hygiene management, and the elimination of menstrual stigma. Through our engagement at the summit, we contributed to conversations that challenged misconceptions and harmful stereotypes surrounding menstruation. We emphasized that menstruation is a natural and healthy biological process, not a disease or something a girl should be ashamed of. Our intervention also highlighted the challenges many girls face when they lack access to adequate menstrual products, accurate information, appropriate sanitation facilities, and supportive environments. These barriers can affect girls’ confidence, participation, attendance, and overall wellbeing. Key Impact Through our participation, Peniel’s Girls Charity Organization: Raised awareness about menstrual health and hygiene among children and other participants. Challenged menstrual stigma and harmful misconceptions, encouraging more open and respectful conversations about menstruation. Promoted dignity and confidence among girls, reinforcing the message that menstruation should never limit a girl’s ability to learn, participate, or pursue her dreams. Amplified the voices of girls and children, encouraging them to speak openly about issues that affect their wellbeing. Promoted menstrual health education as an essential component of the wellbeing and development of adolescent girls. Encouraged collective responsibility among parents, schools, organizations, communities, and policymakers in creating supportive environments for girls. Strengthened advocacy for menstrual equity, particularly for girls from underserved and vulnerable communities. Connected menstrual health with broader child-rights issues, including education, dignity, inclusion, health, participation, and equal opportunities. Our Message At Peniel’s Girls Charity Organization, we believe that an informed girl is a confident girl, and a confident girl is better equipped to take charge of her future. Our participation at the WORDOC 2026 Children’s Summit further strengthened our commitment to ensuring that no girl is held back because of menstruation, stigma, lack of information, or lack of access to menstrual hygiene products. We remain committed to building a society where girls can menstruate with dignity, learn without interruption, speak without fear, and grow with confidence. Peniel’s Girls Charity Organization Flowing with Confidence and Dignity Motto: Healthy Circle, Healthy Lives
WORLD MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY 2026 Creating a Period Friendly World for Every Girl Today, on World Menstrual Hygiene Day, we raise our voices for millions of girls around the world who still face shame, stigma, discrimination, and lack of access to proper menstrual hygiene support. At PENIEL’s Girls Charity Organization, we believe that menstruation is natural, healthy, and normal — never something any girl should suffer for, hide from, or be denied opportunities because of. Sadly, many girls still miss school during their periods due to lack of sanitary pads, inadequate water and sanitation facilities, fear of embarrassment, and limited education about menstrual health. For girls living with disabilities and those in underserved communities, these challenges are often even greater. A truly period friendly world is one where: Every girl has access to safe and affordable menstrual products. Schools provide clean and supportive sanitation facilities. Communities educate both boys and girls about menstruation without shame. Girls can confidently attend school, participate in activities, and pursue their dreams during their periods. Menstrual health conversations are treated with dignity, understanding, and compassion. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to advocating for menstrual equity, dignity, and empowerment for every girl child. As part of this year’s World Menstrual Hygiene Day activities, PENIEL’s Girls Charity Organization is committed to distributing sanitary pads to girls, including girls in special schools and girls living with disabilities, while also creating awareness on menstrual hygiene and ending period stigma. We call on governments, schools, organizations, parents, and communities to join hands in building a society where no girl is left behind because of her period. Together, we can create a world where periods do not limit potentials, interrupt education, or silence confidence. Let us continue to educate, support, and empower girls everywhere. Because every girl deserves dignity. Every girl deserves confidence. Every girl deserves a period friendly world. #MenstrualHygieneDay #MHDay2026 #PeriodFriendlyWorld #EndPeriodStigma #MenstrualEquity #SupportTheGirlChild #GirlsDeserveDignity #PeriodPositive #PadAGirl #EducateEmpowerSupport #PENIELGirlsCharityOrganization #KeepGirlsInSchool #MenstrualHealthAwareness #DignityForGirls #NoGirlLeftBehind
With deep gratitude and a heart full of hope, we are proud to announce a beautiful new chapter in our journey to reach the girls at the grassroots who need us most. We have officially partnered with the Justice, Development and Peace Commission (JDPC), Ibadan Branch — a partnership rooted in compassion, dignity, and a shared vision for change. This is more than a collaboration; it is a promise. A promise that no girl will be left behind because of her period. A promise to educate, to empower, and to restore confidence. A promise to keep showing up for the vulnerable and unheard. Together, we are not just distributing sanitary pads — we are restoring hope, protecting dreams, and helping every girl flow with confidence and dignity
